U.S. enriched uranium exports unsafe: agency

Even as the global nuclear community was given a rude jolt on Monday after an explosion at a nuclear plant in France, a quieter but potentially deadlier story of growing nuclear insecurity is slowly mushrooming under the very nose of the United States.
In a report that went unnoticed by many media outlets preoccupied with frenzied coverage of the 9/11 anniversary, the U.S. Government Accountability Office last week published its findings from an investigation into the security of U.S. nuclear material overseas.
The results were not good, to put it mildly.
