PSEG is proceeding with NJ plant-expansion plans

PSEG is proceeding with N.J. plant-expansion plans
Public Service Enterprise Group is proceeding with plans to possibly construct up to two reactors in Salem County, N.J., despite concerns from experts and company officials about the project's financial viability. The company applied for an early site permit in 2010, although the Nuclear Regulatory Commission this year delayed its review for that application. "If we're to embark on building a plant, it's essentially betting the company -- and it's a huge challenge," said Jamie Mallon, the manager that oversees PSEG's application for an early site permit.
