The State Leading America's Wind Farm Charge Sits On An Ocean Of Oil

According to the Energy Information Administration, Texas now officially leads the nation in wind energy production, producing approximately 30 billion kWh a year.
Unofficially, Texas had surpassed California in 2006 to become the No.1 in installed wind capacity, according to Texas' State Energy Conservation Office.
The estimated numbers by the end of 2008 were 56 wind farms, 8,876 MW, and 5877 wind turbines.
