Japan regulator confirms safety of Genkai reactor
Japan's Nuclear and Industrial Safety Agency has found that the Unit 1 reactor at Kyushu Electric Power's Genkai nuclear plant can operate safely for two more decades. Concerns have been raised that the condition of the plant's pressure vessel has worsened, but NISA said the reactor, which began operating in 1975, will remain safe until 2033. The Mainichi (Japan)
