On April 22, Japan's Kagoshima District Court — presided over by Chief Judge Ikumasa Maeda — rejected a request by a group of local anti-nuclear residents for a temporary injunction prohibiting the restart of the Sendai-1 and -2 Nuclear Power Plants. The reactors (PWRs, 890MWe each) are owned and operated by the Kyushu Electric Power Co. in Satsumasendai City, Kagoshima Prefecture, located in southwestern Japan.
