Industry research group sees need for 45 more nuclear plants by 2030

The Electric Power Research Institute on Monday issued a report calling for 45 more nuclear reactors to be built by 2030 in order for the U.S. to meet new standards for emissions reductions. The group also called for more cleaner-coal power plants and an 8% reduction in electricity consumption. Reuters (08/03)
