U.S. should consider building nuclear breeder reactors, experts say
The Obama administration's more than $8 billion in loan guarantees are for nuclear technologies that do not address concerns about fuel availability and nuclear-waste disposal, experts said. Speaking at the University of Arizona, Tom Blees and Leonard J. Koch said that the U.S. should instead develop breeder reactors that can run on uranium and spent nuclear fuel.
