Sixth Rajasthan reactor now on-grid
from World Nuclear News by Jeremy Gordon

India has 19 nuclear reactors supplying power to the grid after the synchronisation of Rajasthan Atomic Power Project unit 6 (RAPP 6). Reactor power will now gradually be increased, all the while supplying India's Northern Grid. Once final tests have been carried out and the reactor is at full power, it will be declared as in 'commercial operation'. Nuclear Power Corporation of India Ltd said the synchronisation occurred at 1.53 am on 28 March and that the 202 MWe reactor follows its twin, RAPP 5, which entered commercial operation last month. Two other 700 MWe reactors are under construction at the site and predicted for completion in 2017.
