Obama is "warming up" to Republicans' energy plans, lawmaker says
President Barack Obama "appears to be warming up" to Republican-supported plans to promote nuclear power and energy research and development, demonstrated by his proposal to permit expanded offshore oil and gas drilling, said Sen. Lamar Alexander, R-Tenn. "Those are low-cost steps to a clean-energy policy, which Republicans have advocated, and the president seems to be moving in that direction," he said.
