The operators of Wisconsin's two nuclear plants, Dominion's Kewaunee Power Station and NextEra Energy's Point Beach Nuclear Plant, conduct regular safety drills and have good working relationships with local officials, said Ashleigh Burish, an emergency-preparedness expert at Kewaunee. "We have confidence in what they are doing on their end as a private entity, and they have confidence in us as public safety," said Gregg Schetter, an official in Manitowoc County, Wis., which hosts the Point Beach facility.
