Exelon Nuclear Marks 50 Years of Nuclear Power during Dresden Unit 1 Celebration

Entergy celebrates 50th anniversary of Dresden Unit 1 startup
Exelon Nuclear celebrated the 50th anniversary of Dresden Unit 1, the first U.S. full-scale nuclear power plant that was privately funded, with a luncheon at the Dresden Station Training Building in Illinois. Though the commercial plant is dormant, the unit is seen as a key role in the nuclear power industry. "We're proud of the pioneers who worked on Dresden Unit 1, and the roles they played in ushering in the nuclear power industry," said Susan Landahl, chief operating officer for Exelon Nuclear.
