S.C.’s nuclear future Firm partners with Savannah River National Solutions for mini-reactor development Andrew Shain

Hyperion, SRNL eye deployment of mini reactors
New Mexico-based Hyperion Power Generation and the Savannah River National Laboratory in South Carolina have signed an agreement that could lead to the development of small-scale nuclear reactors suitable for military bases and industrial facilities or as backup generators. Miniature reactors could be operated below ground and yield enough power for about 20,000 homes, said Deborah Blackwell, policy director at Hyperion.
