Feds seek revised cleanup schedule for Hanford site
The Department of Energy filed a motion requesting District Judge Fred Van Sickle to clear a new timetable for cleaning up the Hanford nuclear reservation in Washington state. The motion would apply to cleanup efforts for 40 years. "This will ensure our continued progress as we work to meet our commitments to the state of Washington to protect the environment, the public and the Columbia River," said Energy Secretary Steven Chu.
