PNM ponders a (small) nuclear future

N.M. company eyes development of small nuclear reactor
Public Service Co. of New Mexico is exploring options to build small modular nuclear reactors with a capacity of about 125 megawatts to help address demand for electricity while curbing greenhouse-gas emissions. "A full-scale nuclear plant is way beyond our resources, but we could consider [placing] a small reactor in the Four Corners area," said Pat Vincent-Collawn, president and CEO of the company.
