Rep. John Spratt, D-S.C., has criticized a Nuclear Regulatory Commission directive to halt the agency's review of a license application for the Yucca Mountain waste-disposal project in Nevada. In a letter to NRC Chairman Gregory Jaczko, Spratt said, "I remain strongly opposed to the administration's actions to terminate the Yucca Mountain project and urge the NRC to move forward in fulfilling its duty to review the license application."
