GE Hitachi’s new reactor secures another NRC approval

GE Hitachi Nuclear Energy’s most advanced nuclear reactor is one step away from final approval, which may come this summer.
The Castle Hayne-based company said Wednesday its Economic Simplified Boiling Water Reactor (ESBWR) has received final-design approval (FDA) from the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC).
