Forget Fukushima: The ‘Other’ Nuclear Debate
A cadre of federal bureaucrats, government administrators and military planners are quietly negotiating a proposal to expand the size and scope of the U.S. Navy’s nuclear-powered fleet of war-fighting vessels. Ironically, the outcome of these largely-unnoticed negotiations will likely shape the future of nuclear energy in the United States far beyond the shelf-life of the Fukushima debacle.
