Japan Could Miss Nuclear Plant Decontamination Goal

Numerous technical setbacks involving a recently deployed water decontamination mechanism at Japan's Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant have raised questions over whether authorities will achieve a goal to free the damaged facility of radiation-tainted fluid in 2011, the Asahi Shimbun reported on Friday (see GSN, July 26).
