Court upholds NRC ruling on TVA's reactor permits
A
federal appeals court upheld the Nuclear Regulatory Commission's
decision to restore the Tennessee Valley Authority's construction
permits for its unfinished reactors at the Bellefonte nuclear plant in
Alabama. The Blue Ridge Environmental Defense League challenged the
NRC's ruling, saying the agency broke its own permitting policies. The
case was dismissed after the court found that the group had not appealed
the NRC's final decision on the issue. Platts
