Feds earn Fanning's praise for approving Georgia nuclear project
Southern Co. Chairman, President and CEO Thomas Fanning thanked the Obama administration for approving the company's licenses for two new reactors at its Plant Vogtle in Georgia. The company is already learning the safety lessons from the Fukushima Daiichi incident in Japan, he said. "That process with the NRC continues long after the [project] goes into operation. This industry has a track record of continuous learning and we'll continue that posture," Fanning said. Fox Business/Dow Jones Newswires
