Ameren defends relicensing of Missouri nuclear plant
Ameren's
license-renewal bid for the Callaway nuclear plant in Missouri isn't
necessarily dependent on post-Fukushima Daiichi safety rules, said Scott
Bond, the company's manager for nuclear development. His remarks came
in response to an environmental group's request to conduct additional
studies on the relicensing effort. "NRC has looked at the issues with
Fukushima and not seen any immediate threat to the U.S. public," Bond
