Nuclear Renaissance alive and well Posted: 30 Mar 2012 12:57 PM PDT Today, we find that the NRC has voted to allow construction of two new Westinghouse AP1000 reactor plants at the V.C. Summer site in South Carolina. There are now two new nuclear energy construction projects underway (Summer, and Vogtle in Georgia) with a total of four ~1000 MWe plants.
