EDF sets new target for reactor safety upgrades
Safety
upgrades for Electricite de France's 19 nuclear plants will be carried
out in the next decade, said Dominique Miniere, EDF's chief of nuclear
production. The company had earlier proposed to perform some of those
upgrades from 2017 to 2030 as part of an extension program for its
reactors. The upgrades will include new flood-proof diesel generators
and bunkered remote backup control rooms. Reuters
