India Blocks Export Licenses for Firms on WMD Proliferation Grounds

The Indian government in the last year year has refused export licenses for 13 trading companies that were seen as potential intermediaries in the international black market for WMD materials, the Daily Mail reported on Sunday (see GSN, April 20).
Entities in South Africa and West Asia are known to employ Indian firms to assist the covert movement of potential unconventional weapons materials, according to the report.
