U.N. Security Council Session to Focus on Nuclear Nonproliferation

U.N. Security Council Session to Focus on Nuclear Nonproliferation

The U.N. Security Council on April 19 intends to focus on nuclear nonproliferation and related issues, U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Susan Rice said on Tuesday (see GSN, March 8, 2010).
Rice, who assumed the rotating Security Council presidency for April, met with reporters to discuss the 15-nation body's agenda for coming weeks.
"Let me begin with the subject of the 19th of April, which is a session on nuclear nonproliferation, disarmament, and security," she said. "From the U.S. point of view, the greatest danger that we and all states around the world face is a nuclear weapon in -- or nuclear material falling into -- the hands of terrorists."
