Westinghouse forms NexStart Alliance to push its SMR project for DOE funding

by I-Nuclear
Westinghouse and Ameren Missouri have formed the “NexStart SMR Alliance” to advance their plans to license and build a Westinghouse SMR (small modular reactor) at Callaway in central Missouri.
The two companies are bidding for US Department of Energy funding, in competition with others, to support the initial licensing and construction of SMRs in the US by 2022.
Westinghouse and Ameren Missouri had announced in April they would join forces to bid for the DOE funding.
