Mass. AG FIles Suit to Undo Pilgrim License Extension

from POLITICO’s Afternoon Energy Newsletter:

“PILGRIM LAWSUIT: Massachusetts Attorney General Martha Coakley filed a lawsuit today in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit to undo the NRC’s decision last month to relicense the Pilgrim nuclear plant in Plymouth. The NRC acted “arbitrarily” and “abused its discretion” when it signed off on the plant’s 20-year license extension “without fully considering the important safety issues raised in the aftermath of the Fukushima accident,” Coakley said in a statement [http://1.usa.gov/Kg00ld].
