India touts plutonium prototype-fast-breeder reactor

Sinha, chairman of India's Atomic Energy Commission, announced that
because of a shortage of uranium fuel, the AEC's nuclear project will
shift to plutonium reactors that are "prototype fast breeder" types.
Sinha said local industries developed the reactors, which will be used
at the Kalpakkam site in 2014. The Economic Times (India)
