Japan panel nears release of Fukushima Daiichi report
The March 11, 2011, earthquake's role in the Fukushima Daiichi incident in Japan is expected to be at the center of the debate when a Japanese parliamentary panel unveils the findings of an investigation into incident's causes as early as this week, observers say. Several lawmakers, engineers and seismologists say the quake itself, in addition to ensuing tsunami, could have contributed to the incident. "The possibility of the quake contributing to the Fukushima disaster should not be ruled out," said Sumio Mabuchi, a senior ruling-party lawmaker. The Wall Street Journal
