N.C. regulators to hold hearing on Duke-Progress merger
The North Carolina Utilities Commission will hold a hearing about why former Progress Energy chief Bill Johnson apparently was removed from his post upon completion of the merger between Progress and Duke Energy, after regulators were told he would lead the combined company. The commission, which cleared the $32 billion deal in June, is authorized to "rescind, alter or amend any order or decision" it has made. The Charlotte Observer (N.C.)
