TVA ponders use of MOX fuel for nuclear plants
The
Tennessee Valley Authority is willing to consider powering its nuclear
plants with fuel derived from retired nuclear weapons, spokesman Ray
Golden said. He said mixed-oxide fuel will be an option "if it meets
three criteria: It is operationally and environmentally safe;
economically beneficial to TVA customers; and licensed by the Nuclear
