U.K. agency considers GE-Hitachi's Prism fast-reactor proposal
The U.K.'s Nuclear Decommissioning Authority is reviewing GE-Hitachi's proposal to convert Britain's used plutonium into mixed-oxide fuel for use in a Prism fast reactor. The NDA also received three other proposals, including one that suggests the creation of a Candu reactor. An NDA spokesman said the evaluation of the proposals would be finished by the end of this year. The Guardian (London) (7/9)
