Ameren Missouri and its partners are determined to move forward with the development of small modular reactors despite failing to secure a Department of Energy grant for the project, executives said. The department last week picked a Babcock & Wilcox-led partnership for the grant but said it "plans to issue a follow-on solicitation open to other companies and manufacturers, focused on furthering small modular reactor efficiency, operations and design." "I think we're well positioned to be the best team on the block. ...
