Congress Urged To Revamp FERC's Transmission Power To Aid Renewables 

The Bipartisan Policy Center (BPC), a Washington think tank, is urging Congress to revamp the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission's (FERC) “backstop” transmission siting authority, saying the step is necessary to help meet state renewable portfolio standards (RPS) and more broadly bring more renewable energy onto the grid.
