Iran Pressed to Aid U.N. Nuclear Probe

Delegates to the International Atomic Energy Agency Board of Governors meet this week in Vienna, Austria. The Obama administration's envoy to the U.N. organization on Wednesday urged Iran to cooperate with the probe of its nuclear program (International Atomic Energy Agency photo). Iran's estrangement from the global community will increase if the International Atomic Energy Agency cannot advance an investigation into nuclear arms-relevant experiments allegedly conducted by the country, Reuters quoted a U.S. diplomat as saying on Wednesday.
Iran and the U.N. nuclear watchdog last month held their latest in a series of meetings intended to establish ground rules for the Vienna, Austria-based organization to probe claims that Iran has pursued various projects capable of supporting nuclear-bomb development. Washington and other Western capitals have voiced deep skepticism over Tehran's insistence that its atomic program is a strictly peaceful endeavor.http://www.nti.org/gsn/article/iran-must-support-un-nuclear-probe-us/
