Quick Take: The future of grid-scale energy storage continues to come into sharper focus. I recently told you about AES and its "operating system" for storage. AES illustrates two keys to making grid-scale storage mainstream. The first is a "platform" for storage that is battery agnostic – that allows you to swap in any brand or type of battery without redoing your software. The second is multiple value streams –  putting a single stack of batteries to work in many different ways.

Navigant Research is now out with a story of some German battery parks that show one way to accomplish the second concept. - By Jesse Bersthttp://www.smartgridnews.com/artman/publish/Technologies_Storage/Smart-grid-energy-storage-European-battery-parks-show-a-path-ahead-5809.html#.UbHt6xmEPgo
