U.S. vs. Global Spending on defense from Center for ARms Control and Non-Proliferation

How much does the U.S. spend on defense, compared to other countries? Check out this chart that shows that the US spends nearly as much on defense as the next 15 countries combined:
While Pentagon spending is declining as a result of the drawdowns from Iraq and Afghanistan, there is still room to make a lot of reductions. The U.S. military budget remains far higher than it was during the Cold War. And more spending doesn’t necessarily mean more safety.
