Bidding moves ahead for first DOE waste contract

Multinational companies are queuing up to compete for the first of four radioactive waste cleanup and management contracts at Idaho National Laboratory’s desert site.
Billions in federal funding likely is on the line. It is not known which specific companies, or even how many, will be competing for the four Department of Energy contracts that run from five and nine years in length.
