Third Way: Nuclear Energy Renaissance Set to Move Ahead Without U.S.
A new paper by the Third Way organization finds that the United States underspends on advanced nuclear research and development (R&D). In addition, other countries outspend the United States in nuclear R&D. This puts the country at risk of losing its position as an international leader on nuclear energy and mitigating climate change — as well as of losing a portion of the estimated $1 trillion in nuclear infrastructure that the world will need by 2035.
