A Signal from Iran Shows Readiness for a Deal with P5+1

In a widely publicized speech on February 8, 2015 before Iranian Air Force cadets, Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei delivered a clear signal that he is prepared to go ahead with a final agreement with the P5+1 powers over the Islamic Republic’s nuclear program.  “I would go along with any agreement that could be made,” he told cadets, adding, “Of course, I am not for a bad deal.”  He further told the audience that he was in agreement with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani that the talks “mean reaching a common point… This means that one side would not end up getting all it wants.”
