Construction of two new units at Hongyanhe NPP
On February 17th, units 5 & 6 of
Hongyanhe were formally approved to be constructed on the meeting
organized by the General Office of the State Council meeting. It marks
that Hongyanhe phase II has became the first batch of nuclear power
projects to be approved since 2014.
The industry believes that it marks the official restart of Chinese nuclear power. Fuqing units 5 & 6 will also be approved in the near future according to the National Development and Reform Commission. And 6 to 8 units are scheduled to start being constructed within a year.
