    IPL plans $25M energy storage facility at Harding Street power plant
    Indianapolis Power & Light Co. (IPL) plans to construct a $25 million energy-storage facility in central Indiana. Department of Metropolitan Development officials said IPL is looking at two spots for the battery energy storage system (BESS): one at the Harding Street Station; and the other is at a new $600 million Eagle Valley plant under construction in Morgan County.

    Moxie Freedom nears air permit for 1,050-MW power plant in Pennsylvania
    The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection said in a notice in the May 30 Pennsylvania Bulletin that it intends to approve an air permit for Moxie Freedom LLC to construct, own, and operate a natural gas-fired combined-cycle power plant in Salem Township, Luzerne County.

    EIA report: Clean Power Plan will lower CO2 emissions
    The proposed Clean Power Plan (CPP) will reduce projected power sector carbon dioxide (CO2)emissions by between 484 and 625 million metric tons in 2030, this according to a recent report by the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA).
