Sendai #1 curbs power ramp-up
The ramp-up of electrical output for Sendai unit #1 has been curtailed due to a main condenser seawater leak. The Japanese Press has made it a lead story, but they all call it a reactor cooling problem. In Japan, the entire plant (including turbines, generators, condensate and feed systems) is called the "reactor". It seems the electrical output had reached 75% (~660 MWe) when a condensate pump conductivity monitor alarmed. Chemistry analysis revealed the seawater in the condensate.
