Shoe Temperature Variations in Fluid Film Bearings
To accurately monitor temperature fluctuations over the entire surface of a bearing shoe, sensors such as thermocouples or RTDs must be strategically installed across the babbitted surface. The sensor data can then be used to create isotherms like the one shown here. Learn how Kingsbury measures temperature patterns under various operating conditions.
