The Knives Are Out
The Office of Management and Budget has
proposed a $168M cut to the Office of Nuclear Energy for the remainder of 2017, reducing the budget from $858M to $690M.
OMB says this could be achieved by "decreasing
funding for later stage R&D in fuel cycle, reactor, and crosscutting
technologies."
The cut list is not getting a warm reception from legislators on Capitol Hill.
