Next
week China will host the eighth Clean Energy Ministerial and the second
meeting of the 22 countries and the European Union who established
Mission Innovation. Professor Kelly Sims Gallagher will be in Beijing
with Research Fellows Zdenka Myslikova and Fang Zhang to take part in
these meetings. In a new report
from the Climate Policy Lab, recommendations for the next phase of
Mission Innovation are presented along with the latest data on these
countries’ energy RD&D budgets. The four main recommendations are:
1. Create more diversified and realistic goals
2. Improve the data collection and management system
3. Maximize the potential for collaboration with the private sector
4. Address gaps in the overall portfolio
