Future of nuclear energy in Pa. up for debate in Harrisburg | WJAC: Nuclear energy was a hot topic of conversation at the Capitol Monday. The House Consumer Affairs Committee held its first public hearing on House Bill 11. Some representatives want to amend the state's alternative energy portfolio standard by adding nuclear energy to the plan. If passed, it's expected to help keep two nuclear energy plants afloat, including Three Mile Island. Former Gov. Tom Ridge joined panelists supporting the nuclear power industry.
