Hold on Department of Energy Nominees Lifted Earlier this week, Senator Cortez Masto (D-NV) agreed to lift her hold on Department of Energy (DOE) nominees. Her announcement follows DOE Secretary Rick Perry's commitment to the removal of recently shipped plutonium from Nevada beginning in calendar year 2021.    This announcement once again opens the door for Rita Baranwal's Senate confirmation to be the DOE's Assistant Secretary of Energy for Nuclear Energy.
