Opening Plenary:
Regulatory Perspectives on Challenges Stemming from Modernization of Nuclear Energy A three-person, moderated panel consisting of high-level representatives from the U.S., United Kingdom and Canada will discuss the unique regulatory challenges that arise from advancements in technologies, including advanced materials and processing techniques, that are integral to nuclear reactor primary and secondary systems.

Dr. Baranwal leads the office's efforts to promote research and
development (R&D) on existing and advanced nuclear technologies that
sustain the existing U.S. fleet of nuclear reactors, enable the
deployment of advanced nuclear energy systems, and enhance the U.S.A.'s
global commercial nuclear energy competitiveness.
