FPL on the way to licensing Turkey Point nuclear plant for another 20 years - South Florida Sun-Sentinel: Florida Power & Light Co. is on its way to getting Nuclear Regulatory Commission approval to operate two Turkey Point nuclear power plants for another 20 years -- a total of 80 years. In a final environmental report, the NRC said Monday environmental impacts are so minimal that renewing the electric company's license for another 20 years was not "unreasonable."
